Default First build Help

Well, this is my first serious build and I wanted to get some feedback.

Attributes: Fire: 16 Energy storage: 13

[Fire Attunement][Aura of Restoration][Glyph of Elemental Power][Flare][Inferno][Phoenix][Flame Burst][Double Dragon]

The point of the build is to do lots of unavoidable damage in a short time, while keeping me alive. It was made to work in PvE and PvP.

The way it works is I use Fire Attunement then Aura of Restoration before the battle starts. Then use Glyph of Elemental Energy. Next I have a few choices:

1. Stay Back: Cast Double Dragon then hit the enemy with Flare and Pheonix. Flare actually lets you slowly gain energy when you have Fire Attunement and Aura of Restoration on. If the enemy come close to you, cast Inferno, Phoenix, Flame Burst, and Double Dragon until they die, or run which is when you use Flare to finish them. Also if you want you can go to the frontlines and cast all the explosions in a crowd if you see they are low on health.

2. Go in: Instead of staying back cast Double Dragon when you run into the crowd and follow with the other explosions. If you run out use Flare for the finish.

Make sure to keep Glyph of Elemental Energy and Double Dragon on and when Fire Attunement and Aura of Restoration run out cast them again.

Now what I'm debating is if i need to add the elite energy skill to help gain energy and health if I get low. But that get's rid of my +2 attribute and an explosion skill which would make my attacks far less deadly.

Another posibility is to add a skill for removing conditions that cause me to cast slowly, which would prove to be deadly to me.

One other thought was to replace the explosions with skills that do damage per second, but I thought they could just run, and those spells take awile to cast.

Give me your thoughts.

drop flare and phoenix, for Channeling (requires /Me) and Glyph of Lesser Energy, then you have a kinda decent build

Channeling seems like a really good skill, but i don't see why I'd drop flare. It's the skill that i use to deal damage constantly, you could say a staple. I might consider getting rid of fire attunement, since this spell seems better at gaining energy.

What Campaigns you got? Im guessing factions only by looking at that build.

You may want to go /assassin and to go full death bomber. Take out flare becasue thats a skill full of lols. And glyph of elemental power. And stick in Deaths Charge (With a 10 in energy storage and 8 in shadow arts) And Maybe return or deaths retreat.

[skill]Fire Attunement[/skill][skill]Death's Charge[/skill][skill]Double Dragon[/skill][Skill]Flame Burst[/skill][skill]Inferno[/skill][skill]Flame Djinn's Haste[/skill][skill]Death's Retreat[/skill][skill]Liquid Flame[/skill]

Thats if you like to live life on the edge XD Personally i wouldn't use that build. I like to use caster range, and bake them with:

[skill]Fire Attunement[/skill][skill]Channeling[/skill][skill]Mark of Rodgort[/skill][skill]Searing Heat[/skill][skill]Teinai's Heat[/skill][skill]Savannah Heat[/skill][skill]Rodgort's Invocation[/skill][skill]Liquid Flame[/skill]

Well, two of the skills I put are prophocies only so I don't know why you'd guess that I only have factions. I have all three.

To post above: When you say flare is awful, you mean by damage right?(which while maintaining 20 fire attribute is 80), which isn't too bad in PvP. Even so it's more damage than the regular staff attack, and it is meant to be a replacement for it since I'll never run out of energy using it. Also since it's a spell I gain health every time I use it. How is this bad?

[immolate] > [flare] imo, esp. if you have channeling or something for energy

For Elementalist builds, its rare for the same build to work for both PvE and PvP because the focuses are different.

A lot of Elementalists builds for you to look at on PvX to get ideas.

one other thought about your second fighting strategy. Point blank nuking can be a blast -- but I highly recommend an armor boost if you do. Yes, [Aura of Restoration] helps -- but if you're spamming a short recharge skill (like [flare]), [kinetic armor] is a life saver
